Thank You

As we come to the end of 2021, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our Sunshine Members. 2021 was a busy year for us and you supported us every step of the way.

We started out 2021 collecting items for Period Purse and you blew it out of the water, helping us collect 14,538 items that were distributed to shelters and community organizations in Regina and Weyburn.

In April you helped us share the important information about Organ and Tissue Donation. This will be an annual part of the SKS Foundation and we will continue to show people the impact they can have by choosing to be a donor.

We also began asking for your warm clothes donations and gathered a few knitters and crocheters to handmake some of the many items we received and were able to donate to schools and community organizations to help people stay warm this winter. This is an ongoing need in every community in Saskatchewan, so we will continue to collect items throughout the year. Please consider picking up an item or two every time you are out and about to help us help others.

June brought our 2nd Annual COVID Friendly Burger Night, we are truly hoping we don’t have to include COVID for our 3rd Annual in 2022. We appreciate all of you that came out and those of you that ordered for pickup.

In August we changed things up and celebrated Kailynn’s 20th birthday by collecting items for the Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon. We also had a Tupperware fundraiser/collection that made the kitchen staff at RMHC very happy.

September needed some cheering, so we took to the QCM route to share the sunshine with those amazing runners and walkers. 2022 we will have this on this list again, stay tuned for reminders.

To finish out the year, we hosted our 2nd Annual Online Auction and raised $5690 that we will use to start our Sunshine Kits and we were able to make a $500 donation to SCRAPS in Moose Jaw to help them rescue more kitters. We will be sharing more information about our Sunshine Kits in January, stay tuned!!

From all of us on the Board of Sharing Kailynn’s Sunshine Foundation, we couldn’t have done it all without you and we hope you will continue to shine with us in 2022.
